Boracay is a butterfly-shaped island at the tip of Panay’s northeastern coast, in the Visayas. The island is about 7 kms long, and approximately one kilometer at its widest. The main beach, on the western side is about 3.5 kms.long, and during low tide about 50 m.wide. Accommodations on the island range from the posh, air-conditioned first class resorts, to the rustic thatched-roofed, bamboo cottages on stilts. There are several restaurants specializing in European and Oriental cuisine, open-air beer joints, pubs and native food stalls. Beach is highly recommended to those who love the beach and active sportsmen. Boracay Island is accessible via a 20 minute motorized outrigger ride from Caticlan, on the mainland.

Friday’s Resort (4 star): Located at the western side of the main beach, where the beach is the best and finest on the island. Cottages are deceivingly simple but air-conditioned, tile baths. Some face the fresh water pool, while the other almost nestle among the tree tops.

Discovery Shores (5 star): Discovery Shores is the ideal setting to enjoy the warm blue waters and the powder-fine sand of this Pacific island paradise. A pampering spa, a cascading infinity pool and superb cuisine are just some of the delights that you can look forward to.

Here you can expect to experience total relaxation with studios and suites that are havens of style with outdoor Jacuzzis on balconies or terraces from which to soak up the view.

For total indulgence, laze in the pool all day and then have a melt-away massage in the spa. For something more energetic, head to the beach for sailing, kayaking, windsurfing or scuba diving. Trek the island and discover the sunken forest at Bulabug Beach or go to the market at Talipapa.
